形態特徵

• Annual. Rhizome weak, poorly developed. Culms slender, loosely tufted, 10-60 cm tall, 1-2 mm wide, glabrous.
• Leaves 2-4 mm thick, soft, smooth to sparsely pilose, abruptly narrowed to obtusish apex; sheaths trigonous, narrowly winged, scabrous on angles; contraligule round, somewhat depressed, ciliolate on margin.
• Inflorescence elongate, consisting of 2-4 panicles; terminal panicles longer than later ones, 2-4 cm long; lateral panicles erect, single or binate; peduncles smooth or slightly scabrous; branches short, patent; leaf-like bracts elongate, long sheathing at base. Spikelets unisexual or gynodioecious, single or binate, greenish.
• Fruiting spikelets broadly obovoid, 4-4.5 mm long. Staminate spikes lanceolate, 2-4 mm long. Achene globose to slightly depressed, 1.75-2 mm in diam., apex round to short-beaked, white to slightly grayish, regularly cancellate, ferrugineous-pubescent or densely ferrugineous-tomentose between lacunae, beak purplish to black; hypogynium deeply 3-lobed, lobes appressed to achene, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowed upward.

分布

• 台灣 : in swamps and grassy place at low altitude.
• 世界 : Ryukyus, southern China, southeastern Asia, India and Sri Lanka.
